Spring Symposium: Session Two: Everyone, Every Role has IT Systems Requirements Responsibilities.

Course Description:

Technology projects are tenuous even with well-defined requirements. However, a technology project will surely fail if the requirements are incorrect and every single technology project has requirements. Join us for an enlightening presentation about how requirements play a critical role in every tech-dependent project. We will demonstrate and discuss various types of requirements, including business, system, user, functional, and nonfunctional requirements. We will also delve into how an organization’s characteristics and culture affect the outcome of a requirements analysis endeavor. It is imperative that everyone in the organization understand their role and accountability in a requirements analysis initiative. Whether you’re a CEO, VP, project manager, developer, user, or other, you have a role in the requirements project. This is true in every project; requirements must be defined regardless of whether you use classic waterfall or agile development methodologies.

Learning objectives:

  • Differentiate the different types of requirements and each one’s role in a technology project.
  • Identify leadership, business analyst, IT, user, and other roles and responsibilities required to ensure success.
  • Educate participants so they can take the steps necessary to keep their organization’s technology initiatives on track.
